The Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust focuses on protection of the moraine through encouraging the use of conservation easements on privately held lands, active stewardship of owned properties, encouraging stewardship by others and engaging in outreach and communications to foster better knowledge about the moraine's important functions. Protection and Stewardship are not the only ways to help with moraine protection.

Other organizations, like the Save the Oak Ridges Moraine Coalition, keep an ever watchful eye on legislation, policy and planning decisions and activity which may impact on achieving the goals of the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan.

Citizens can become involved and help out in projects undertaken by Save the Oak Ridges Moraine - Monitoring the Moraine - in collaboration with EcoSpark (formerly known as Citizens' Environment Watch). Activities under this collaboration engage community volunteers in science, stewardship, monitoring and decision-making on the Oak Ridges Moraine.
